Oil-immersed transformers are favored by various fields because of their small size, lightweight, high efficiency, adjustable voltage, and reliable operation. So how to choose the oil-immersed transformer that suits you? You can consider the following points:

　　1. Environmental Conditions

　　Under normal medium conditions, oil-immersed transformers or dry-type transformers can be used, such as independent or attached substations in industrial and mining enterprises, agriculture, independent substations in residential areas, etc.

　　2. Ambient temperature

　　1) Long-term stability at 220°C;

　　2) Withstand short-term operation at 350°C;

　　3) Maintain stable performance in a wide range of temperatures and humidity;

　　4) Not melt, flow, and support combustion at 250°C;

　　5) No toxic or corrosive gases will be released at 750°C.

　　3. Power load

　　1) The capacity of distribution transformers should be calculated based on the facility capacity of various electrical equipment. The apparent capacity after compensation is the basis for selecting the capacity and number of transformers.

　　2) Selection of distribution transformer capacity recommended in GB/T17468-1998 "Guidelines for Selection of Power Transformers", is determined by GB/T15164-94 "Guidelines for Oil-immersed Power Transformers", GB/T17211-1998 "Guidelines for Loads of Dry-type Power Transformers" and calculated load.

　　4. Load nature

　　1) When there are a large number of primary or secondary loads, two or more transformers should be installed. When any one of the transformers is disconnected, the capacity of the remaining transformers can meet the power consumption of the primary and secondary loads. The primary and secondary loads should be concentrated as much as possible and should not be too dispersed.

　　2) When the seasonal load capacity is large, a special transformer should be installed.

　　3) When the concentrated load is large, it is advisable to install a dedicated transformer.

　　4) When the lighting load is large or the use of a shared transformer for power and lighting seriously affects the quality of lighting and the life of the bulb, a special transformer for lighting can be installed.
